dc.description.abstract In this thesis I seek try understand our need to work for mental stability as much as economic security. I investigate the matter through my personally live experiences and the considerations these experiences have provoked. The art works I have made for this thesis(21 in total) are all visual exploration of subjects such as: employment, unemployment, occupation, melancholy, dangers in being naive of threat, hazards and warnings. The theme of my art component, and my thesis writing, is related to our constant draw towards being occupied, and I simply ask is this healthy or a sign of fear, or even illness. I gradually accept that there is no clear answer and I explore this ambiguity all the more so as now I see the need for visual investigation before the verbal. en

dc.description.notification Media files notes: PDF of all works created for this masters thesis. Description: Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding on my part , the pdf of art work images display all works without titles, materials, or size specifications. However some of the key works are in the text of the thesis with all the mentioned information. I hope that you the viewer can discern from my images, what works are on paper, what are on plaster, or canvas etc. The works are not in chronological order, but all are relevant to the thesis as will become clear in the reading of it. The most important works will be exhibited in my degree show exhibition in June, there one will truly have the access to the real works and their materiality. Media rights: CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0
