Abstract:Transkraniaaalinen magneettistimulaatio (TMS) on tekniikka, jolla aivojen hermosoluja voidaan aktivoida kohdennetusti kallon ulkopuolelta käsin. Pään pinnalta voidaan puolestaan elektroenkefalografialla (EEG) mitata sähköisiä signaaleja, ns. TMS-herätepotentiaaleja, jotka syntyvät hermosolujen aktivoitumisesta ja vuorovaikutuksesta TMS:n seurauksena. Tätä koeasetelmaa käyttäen voidaan ymmärtää aivojen toimintaa erilaisissa olosuhteissa ja sairauksissa. |
